For Dr. Bradford Patt and his family, supporting the Boomer Esiason Foundation is more than a charitable effort. It’s a deeply personal commitment inspired by Dr. Patt’s son, Ethan, who lives with cystic fibrosis.

Like many families navigating this condition, the Patts have experienced firsthand the challenges, uncertainties, and resilience that come with it. That lived experience has shaped their commitment to raising awareness and supporting efforts to improve the lives of those affected by CF.

Why CF Awareness Is Personal for the Patt Family

As a physician, Dr. Patt understands the importance of advancing medical research and access to care. As a father, that understanding takes on an even greater sense of urgency. His involvement with the Boomer Esiason Foundation reflects both perspectives, combining his professional respect for innovation in medicine with a deeply personal drive to support progress toward a cure. Over the years, the Patt family has embraced opportunities to get involved in meaningful, community-centered ways.

Coming Together for the Cause

One of the most impactful ways they participate is through the foundation’s annual pickleball tournament in Houston. The event brings together families, supporters, and advocates for a shared purpose: raising funds for cystic fibrosis research and patient support programs. In 2025, the tournament raised more than $30,000.

For the Patt family, though, it’s more than just a fundraiser. The tournament also offers a chance to connect with others who understand the journey, celebrate progress, and contribute to something larger than themselves. The energy of the event reflects a strong sense of community, where every match played and every dollar raised moves the mission forward.

The Boomer Esiason Foundation has long been dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with cystic fibrosis while working toward a cure. Through funding research, supporting patient programs, and advocating for access to care, the foundation continues to make a meaningful impact nationwide. For families like the Patts, that mission is personal and hopeful.

Turning Personal Experience Into Action

Supporting the foundation allows Dr. Patt and his family to turn their experience into action. Whether participating in events, sharing their story, or encouraging others to get involved, they are helping to build awareness and momentum. Their involvement reflects a belief that progress is possible and that community support plays a vital role in making it happen.
